One of our all-time favorite snacks is Seven Layer Dip, and our version makes it even easier!
The idea is simple; instead of layering your ingredients, fold most of them together in a single sauce pan, creating one of the tastiest, protein-packed dips you’ve ever eaten. Top it with the remaining ingredients, and BOOM.
Trust us; try it! It’s delicious, versatile, and easily portable!

Easy Taco Dip
1 lb taco seasoned beef, or the ground protein of your choice
2 cups refried beans (I use non-fat)
1/2 cup sour cream (I use reduced fat)
1/2 cup salsa of your choice (use jarred to make it even easier)
1 small can of green chilies
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tomato, diced
1 cup green onions, diced
OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: hot sauce, black olives, jalapeños, shredded lettuce
Combine your seasoned protein, beans, sour cream, chilies, and salsa in a sauce pan and heat through until simmering. Fold in the grated cheese, and transfer to your serving dish. Top with more grated cheese, diced tomatoes, and green onions. We also suggest sliced black olives, jalapeños, and your choice of hot sauce as additional toppings. Serve with plenty of tortilla chips.
This mix also makes an incredible burrito filling. Fold the mixture into flour tortillas, and grill them in a oiled skillet over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Serve them topped with your preference of toppings. We love smothering them with more salsa, cheese, shredded lettuce, sour cream, hot sauce, green onions, and black olives.
