Homemade KFC bowls have become an incredibly popular copycat meal. You don’t even need a step-by-step recipe. Just prepare the 5 components, assemble in a bowl, and enjoy. Here’s how I make mine!
TIP: Season your mashed potatoes as you would eat them by themselves. Butter, salt, chives, sour cream, etc. You don’t want to use plain mashed potatoes in this dish!

Homemade KFC Bowls
1 C seasoned mashed potatoes per person
1/2 C cooked corn per person
1/4 C shredded cheddar cheese per person
4-5 chicken strips per person, cooked
Gravy of your choice
While you’re preparing all your ingredients, preheat your oven to 350F.
Spread seasoned mashed potatoes on the bottom of an oven safe dish. Sprinkle half your cheddar cheese on top. Put it in the hot oven for several minutes, just until the cheese is melted. Once you remove it, scoop your corn on top of the melted cheese.

Lay your cooked chicken on top of the corn. Sprinkle the remaining half of cheese on top of the chicken. Return the dish to the oven to let that cheese melt, just a minute or two.
Ladle gravy all over the top to taste. If you’re feeling fancy, garnish with chopped green onion.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
